Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue White Porcelain Bowl Islamic Market Circa 1550
About the Item
A very good antique Chinese blue and white bowl for the Islamic market, late Ming dynasty, 16th century.
The bowl having a flared rim with a band of gadrooned decoration, the exterior of the bowl is decorated with an overall design of stylised "Dahlia Zhara" flowers, the interior of the bowl is also extravagantly decorated with the same design.
The bowl is raised on a tapered foot with twin concentric bands of blue, the bowl stands on a 19th Century carved rosewood stand.
The bowl is in excellent condition, there is no damage or restoration to be noted. Please see a very similar yet less elegant bowl sold at Sotheby's London, January 18th 2023.
