Meiji Period Large Imari Charger
About the Item
This a great example of a very large Meiji Period Imari Charger. The charger is in overall very good condition with very minor indications of use. The charger is beautifully decorated in a traditional Imari fashion with reserves of cherry trees. kailins and floral elements. Chargers of this size are uncommon due to the complications of firing such larger objects. The charger could be hung as art work or placed on a period 18th century chest or credenza or used as a counterpoint to modern or contemporary design.
