Art Nouveau Jugendstil Tulip Basket in Style of Achille Gamba, Pewter, Italy

About the Item

Art Nouveau Figural Basket is decorated with figurative tulips; the double handle has two unopened tulips on top. Baskets with very similar designs are documented in online catalogues and auction listings, signed with Achille Gamba stamps, with date of manufacture around 1900s or early 20th century. This bowl has different marks, which leads us to believe that this is a vintage reproduction of the famous piece. It is clearly signed with "Made in Italy" on the bottom and with additional stamps in two areas on underside of the rim; it also has remnants of distributor sticker on the bottom.
