About the Item
Swedish Artist Wiwe Larsson's Bold Bronze Sculpture in Brutalist Style
Wiwe Larsson (1925-2007), was deeply influenced by anthroposophy, a spiritual philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner. Anthroposophy emphasizes the idea of spiritual knowledge and the development of human consciousness. Larsson's artistic vision was shaped by these beliefs, leading him to create sculptures that reflected the principles of anthroposophy.
In Larsson's works, one can often observe organic forms, flowing lines, and a sense of harmony and balance. These elements echo the anthroposophical understanding of the interconnectedness of the spiritual and natural worlds.
The sculpture "Triad" exists as a public work in Stockholm (pictured). It is situated In a small park overlooking the railway tracks and the Karlberg Canal. The artwork branches out into three parts, and just like in several of his other works, Wive Larsson has here worked with concave and convex forms.
This is signed and numbered 4/7, made in bronze with brown patina,
