About the Item
An antique over life-size bust of Venus. Thanks to her scale, this Neoclassical style handcarved marble sculpture of Venus, Roman goddess of love and beauty, is very striking. Characteristic weathering covers each detail of the goddess giving her a desirable aged look. Perfect as a centrepiece for traditional and contemporary gardens and interiors alike.
According to Greek mythology, Aphrodite (the Roman Venus) is the Goddess of Love and Beauty. She is depicted here in statuary white marble, in the nude with a vacant stare, and her hair tied to the back with strands down the nape of her neck.
