About the Item
Beautiful sculpture in bronze with a medallic patina representing a young ephebe with a tambourine dancing a joyful dance called "La Saltarelle". The spirit of the Florentine Baroque genius of the 16th century is rendered with brilliance and virtuosity. Sanson restores in this sculpture, the grace, the naturalness, the movement and the lightness of the dance. Signature of the sculptor on the edge of the base: J. Sanson. Origin, France, Paris.
Workshop cast of the period, slight wear of the patina and missing two small cymbalettes on the tambourine.
