About the Item

Late 20th Century Eric Stepnewski centerpiece bowl. Crafted from chiseled brass ormolu finished in 24k gold and crystal. Perfectly suited to function as a champagne bowl or simply as a decorative vase or centerpiece Features a gadrooned cut crystal body mounted to the rim with a foliate ormolu band and raised below by an ormolu foot moulded with acanthus leaves and rocaille forms. The bowl showcases twin leafy ormolu handles, with each handle surmounted by a charming seated putto holding a trident. Eric Stepniewski's adventure with bronze started in 1973 in Paris (France), he’s hometown, where he started to work as an antique dealer. After many years of managing his Gallery, he took over the famous galvanizing and antiques restoration company: Bettencourt. In 1989, he’s decided to bring the company to a next level and moved to Poland, the country of his parents, to create his own collections using his favorite materials: gold, silver, malachite and lapis lazuli. The most respected museums such as the Wilanow castle museum, the Royal Castle and the Archdiocese museum hired him to preserve their most precious pieces, allowing him to make replicas of chosen objects in exchange. In this way, and also by designing his own pieces, he collected an impressive collection. Through the years, he became a well renowned curator.
