About the Item
Large scale Funk pottery coffee mug cup created by Lithuanian-American sculptor and ceramist Rimas VisGirda. Cup measures 4" by 8" by 4 3/4" and is signed VisGirda. In very good vintage condition.
He has exhibited his work, given workshops in ceramics, and lectured internationally. He is represented in over 30 public as well as numerous private collections. His work is pictured in many books on ceramics as well as periodicals in the field. He has taught at colleges and universities on the west coast and in the Midwest since 1973. The artist cites as his influences the California underground cartoonists such as Robert Crumb and S. Clay Wilson and the British punk movement.
