A French neoclassical faïence transfer printed creamware plate, circa 1820-1830.
A black transfer of an architectural image on a creamware body, depicting the Palais de la Chambre des Deputés à Paris. The building is prominent, with figures in period dress appearing in the foreground. A horse drawn carriage, a rider on horseback, along with a running dog are shown as well. A Greek Key ribbon scroll and floral border follows the rim.
Measures: 8.5 in. diameter x .75 in. height
An impressed makers mark on the verso - Valentin Paillart and Hippolyte Hautin, Choisy.
The expected wear. Light discoloring and utensil marking to the field, a minor bite on the rim.
