Set of Six Vintage Atlantis Etched Crystal Balloon Glasses, 1950s

A very handsome mid-century A. Brandt Co. Ranch Oak six-piece dining chair set with a classic American West look. Warm hand-crafted honey oak frames feature rustic hand-carved and chiseled details throughout, and especially on their rough-hewn front legs. Very nice grain with a warm tone and a lot of natural character, including some darker spots. Seats are dressed in their original black faux leather vinyl upholstery, and are in unusually great shape with minimal signs of age or use. They're slightly contoured with padded springs providing support. Undersides retain their original reddish-orange plastic dust covers. Please note that this is a very uncommon Ranch Oak chair...

A very handsome mid-century A. Brandt Co. Ranch Oak desk and chair set with a great classic American West look. Hand-crafted design features rustic hand-carved and chiseled details on both the desk and chair, which have a warm honey oak finish and display very handsome grain throughout. Desk with three drawers at left and two open shelves at right. Fully finished on all sides so that it can be placed anywhere in a room. Blackened metal rounded-head nails or furniture tacks punctuate drawer pulls and various frame elements, adding a bit of nicely understated decoration. Finished on all sides so it can float in a room. Ranch Oak logo branded on inside of top drawer. Chair with contoured seat, slat back, and handle cut-out at top. Both it and the desk have great craftsmanship, and make for a very sturdy set that’s meant to last a lifetime. A. Brandt Company was established in Fort Worth, Texas in 1900, with their Ranch Oak line produced from 1938 to the mid-1980s. This particular set dates from the 1950s. This set of 16 Baccarat French crystal glasses have been decorated in the lovely Bergame pattern. Baccarat's ornate Bergame is a variation of the Parme pattern which dates to 1850. Bergame features an Empire Revival motif consisting of etched Birds of Paradise and Sea Horses along with scrolling decoration, all of which are accented in gilt. The glasses have been finished with other decorative elements including a series of vertical prismatic mitre cuts with angular tops resembling sword tips that are located immediately beneath the gilt etched decoration. The tapered paneled stems have six sides and the feet are rimmed in gold. The underside of the glasses carry the acid-etched Baccarat mark. Eight of the glasses stand 6" tall while the other eight stand 5" tall. The taller glasses can be used for water or wine while the smaller glasses can be used for champagne, port or sherbert.
