Heavy-Gauge Silver Water Jug
About the Item
Pleasingly simple style of silver water jug of bellied, pear-shaped form, fitted with a scroll and acanthus leaf pattern handle. The body is mounted on a spreading circular base. This wonderful quality piece is made from hand-raised silver and the original hammered finish can still be seen. The design harks back to the George II period and resembles the popular beer jugs of that era.
