About the Item
These are a beautiful set of NINE porcelain Monkey Figures or Figurines all playing in a Band made by Sitzendorf, Germany, circa 1910.
The figures are finely modelled in very good detail. They depict eight different monkey figures plus a band conductor ( Nine figures in total), all playing different musical instruments, including a horn, pipes ,drums, fiddle etc . the whole group forming a musical band. Each figure has been carefully hand decorated in various coloured enamels of pastel shades.
The figures have the blue printed Sitzendorf crossed sword mark which we date to Circa 1910, or possibly earlier back to the late 19th century.
