Established in 1350 by King U Thong, This City Situated Along the Chao Phraya River Rose to Prominence as the Heart of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, Later Known as Siam. A Bustling Metropolis, Its Population S swelled to Nearly a Million by 1700 CE, Earning It the Nickname "Venice of the East."
The Ebb and Flow of History Marked Its Ascent and Decline. In 1767, the Burmese Invasion Razed Ayutthaya, Leading to Its Downfall.
