Antique Sterling Cow Creamer
About the Item
Circa 1920s, .800 fineness solid silver, Germany. This charming cow creamer brings a playfully pastoral look to any table. Stylistically dating back to the Georgian period, these whimsical creamers are perfect for country houses and brilliant in your urban cottage. Finely fabricated in .800 fineness solid silver, this example is wonderfully detailed and in excellent condition.
Noted: .800 finess solid silver was the sterling standard of Germany. Earlier pieces tend to show little bits of copper here and there due to the cruder alloys used more than a century. We find this natural occurrence adds to the charm of their patination.
Remark: "Delightfully cow-ish… I love any object that makes me smile."
