Antique Victorian sterling silver cigar case, engraved
About the Item
An attractive and decorative, antique sterling silver cigar case.
A lovely substantial and heavy piece, made from heavily engraved sterling silver, the case is gilt lined and still retains most of its rich gilt finish.
The engraving has a foliate design and spans the front and the back, the top of the cigar case has a monogrammed cartouche which features initials BSM and a date.
It is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham Assay office, Minshull and Latimer, 1900.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some patina, light surface wear, general signs of use, snaps tightly closed, some light wear to the gilding.
