The pieces of this exceptional vintage sterling silver flatware set for eight persons have been crafted in the Louis Seize pattern*.
The surface of each rounded handle is embellished with reed and ribbon paralleling borders accented with an acanthus and shell design to the terminal.

The components of this vintage flatware service have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmiths Roberts & Belk Ltd between 1940-1942.
This impressive Louis Seize pattern flatware set benefits from the original silver handled knives, fitted with the original blades bearing the mark 'Roberts & Belk Ltd, Furnival Works, Sheffield England, Rustless'.
This exceptional sterling silver English cutlery set is fitted to a mahogany veneered lift up lid canteen box, with a velvet lined interior and brass fittings.
* Louis Seize pattern is an ornate private pattern from Roberts & Belk Ltd.
Condition
This antique silver flatware service is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
Each silver spoon, fork and knife has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The ornamentation to each piece is very sharp.
The canteen box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker, and is in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of vintage silverware.

The table and dessert knives, in addition to the fish service and carving service, are fitted with composite handles, embellished with the original stained initials 'A'; this initial reflects that engraved to the spoons, forks and ladles. The table and dessert knives are fitted with stainless steel blades bearing the mark 'Harrods Ld, G.H. Knightsbridge.S.W., Stainless'. This exceptional sterling silver English cutlery set is fitted to a veneered walnut lift up lid canteen box, with a velvet lined interior.
