The last image shows a 1930's advert for the Hazell rackets and the U.S.A patent application.
The design of the Streamline racket was filed for patent in Great Britain on December 31st 1934 and in the United States of America nearly a year later, December 17th 1935. The patents were applied for by Frank W Donisthorpe, a former tennis player and its inventor. The company made tennis, badminton and squash rackets named red, blue and green star. They also produced a painted white and an aqua colour racket. Bunny Austin, the English tennis champion, actively promoted the Streamline racket. It was popular not just for its eye catching design but also for the practicality of its light weight.
