Burr Oak Estate Cupboard with Drawers

About the Item

A superb 19th century burr oak estate cabinet with a sleeved drawer, over a pair of arched panelled cupboard doors, flanked by pilasters mounted with acanthus scroll decoration. The interior is fitted with fifteen fitted drawers and castors to the base. Originating from a Herefordshire country house estate in England.

  • Condition:
    Repaired: This has a semicircular repair to the veneer on the right side, towards the back, which blends unobtrusively into the burr. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Unobtrusive issues include two marks on the top, approximately 12 cm by 4 cm each, which appear to be shadow marks from something standing on the top. A small chip from the front edge of the cupboard door beading is consistent with age and wear.
