Provost Cabinet with Doors

About the Item

Free floating closed units are delicately held to the frame by brass connectors, giving the robust case a light and airy feel. The doors swing on solid brass pivot hinges, hand laid and set into the top and bottom of each door. This piece is completely size and finish adjustable. ------ Founded in 2017, Ben Kicic is a research-based design firm based in New York City, centered around the belief that design is a gesture toward simplicity, small details, livability, and practicality. To that end, the studio creates objects and interiors that engage in a dialogue with functionality, art, culture, and material history. Ben Kicic's practice is the culmination of over a decade of experience as a designer, working with various design firms before establishing his own practice. Drawing inspiration from the hidden contours that shape contemporary life, his work is an exploration of the language of objects, materials, and spaces—a meditation on how we live, what we value, and why. The studio regularly produces collections of furniture, lighting, and objects, as well as offering services for private residential interiors.
