BAKER Georgian Walnut Bonnet Top Secretary Desk with Mirrored Blind Bookcase

About the Item

A Georgian style secretary desk by Baker Furniture. Walnut with brass hardware, double bonnet arched top with three finials, crown molding and bracket feet. Upper blind bookcase has "Antique French" mirror glass arched double doors which are lockable that reveal two adjustable wood shelves. Lower desk features slant front locking drop-down desk lid with external book tray, pull out supports, interior leather embossed writing surface, four small dovetail constructed drawers and an open center area. Beneath are two smaller over two larger drawers of dovetail construction, larger drawers having faux keyhole escutcheons. Includes one key. Two piece construction. Made in the North Carolina, USA, in the late 20th Century. Measures: Overall: 39w 20d 90.5h, Desk Open: 32.25d, Knee Clearance: 28.75h Exceptionally good vintage condition with signs of light use. Intentional silvering to mirrors for appearance of age. Doors, drawers, locks, desk lid and pull out supports function properly. Has one key. Structurally sound and sturdy.
