Antique French carved oak secretary desk bureau drop front Louis XV Style.
Direct from France, a lovely antique French carved “drop front” secretary/desk with quintessential French style from top to bottom!
The ‘drop front’ or ‘slant front’ has carved French designs across the entire panel featuring classic carved French scrolls and designs. The top opens to reveal a fitted desk interior with two drawers, cubbyholes, and a large writing area, with green felt center, and supported by two pullout oak staffs tipped with round button pulls.
Two full length drawers have carved panel fronts with dual brass drawer handles. Serpentine carved lower apron and carved French cabriole legs.
Solid construction, lovely oak finish and grain, dovetail drawers, well built by craftsmen of the period. Circa 1920.

43.5” ht. x 38.75” x 17”.
Open writing area, 33.5” x 29”. Leg clearance, approx. 31”.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Good condition for its age, normal signs of age, use, dings, scratches, imperfections. Keys included, but old locks are not guaranteed. Cracks on left & right side of slant front and one side. Green felt not original.
