A wonderful larger size Monastery Dining Table. Made from Solid Oak and dating to the early 1900s. Of excellent quality construction this table will be around for generations to come. French in origin and dating to the early 1900s, we have bleached it for a lighter look. In excellent overall condition for the home.     A substantial antique French oak monastery / refectory table. circa 1900 Hand carved in France in the early 20th century, likely near the Alps region of Southern France close to the Italian / Swiss border, having an impressive 2.5 inch thick plank tabletop comprised of four boards, rising on a carved and pierced trestle base, cross stretcher with wedged mortise and tenon joinery, resting on sturdy molded shoe feet. Dimensions: (approx) 29.25" High, 79" Long, 31" Wide; Clearance: 26.75" Historically monks used these large tables in dining halls and refectories, hence the name.
