Original U.S Release James Bond 007 'You Only Live Twice' Subway C Poster c.1967
About the Item
A rare and original U.S release subway type c poster from the James Bond 007 blockbuster 'You Only Live Twice' (1967), bathtub scene. In the movie, Bond is sent to Japan following the mysterious disappearance of American and Soviet spacecraft in orbit, with each nation pointing fingers at the other during the Cold War tension. Bond embarks on a covert mission to a secluded Japanese island to uncover the culprits, where he confronts Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the mastermind behind SPECTRE. This marks Blofeld's first full appearance after being previously hinted at. SPECTRE is revealed to be collaborating with an unnamed Asian power, strongly suggested to be the People's Republic of China, in an attempt to instigate conflict between the superpowers.
This film, the fifth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, was directed by Lewis Gilbert, marking the start of his three-film tenure with the franchise. The screenplay, loosely inspired by Ian Fleming's 1964 novel, was penned by Roald Dahl. During production, it was announced that Sean Connery would retire from his role as Bond, though he later returned for "Diamonds are Forever" in 1971 and "Never Say Never Again" in 1983. Artist Frank McCarthy (1924-2002) contributed to the promotional artwork, which included three distinct posters showcasing Connery in various iconic scenes: in a bathtub surrounded by women, with the memorable Little Nelly aircraft, and within the volcano. Alongside three British posters, the advertising team also crafted three larger-format posters for the US subway market. This superb large posters comes with a timeless made to measure custom black frame.

- Original U.S James Bond 007 'Thunderball' Poster c.1965Located in Royal Tunbridge Wells, KentA rare and original U.S release (1965) poster from the James Bond 007 blockbuster, Thunderball. A 1965 spy film and the fourth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, starring Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is an adaptation of the 1961 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming, which in turn was based on an original story by Kevin McClory, Jack Whittingham, and Fleming, and an original screenplay by Jack Whittingham. It was the third and final Bond film to be directed by Terence Young, with its screenplay by Richard Maibaum and John Hopkins. The movie would have been the first of the Bond series if not for legal disputes over copyright. The film follows Bond's mission to find two NATO atomic bombs stolen by SPECTRE, which holds the world for ransom of £100 million in diamonds under its threat to destroy an unspecified metropolis in either the United Kingdom or the United States (later revealed to be Miami). The search leads Bond to the Bahamas, where he encounters Emilio Largo, the card-playing, eye patch-wearing SPECTRE Number Two. Backed by CIA agent Felix Leiter and Largo's mistress, Domino Derval, Bond's search culminates in an underwater battle with Largo's henchmen. The film's complex production comprised four different units and about a quarter of the film comprised underwater scenes. Thunderball was the first Bond film shot in widescreen Panavision and the first to have a running time of over two hours. This large American billboard poster...Category
