Nearly Naked White Satin Deco Wedding Gown w Transparent Lace Panels - XS, 1930s

About the Item

You would be forgiven for thinking this is an uptight wedding gown because of its age and sleeves. Of course we would direct your attention to the transparent lace insets that discourage the use of underwear, and to the bias-cut liquid satin fabric that hugs every curve. It simultaneously reveals everything and nothing at all. Vintage long sleeve bright white bias cut gown with five-foot train. Shirred bodice framed by inset lace at waistline, shoulders, upper back and down front at each leg. Princess seams down full length of back skirt. Long tapered sleeves with points at wrists; elbow tucks. Side zipper closure; single snap at each wrist. Unlined. **Please see final photos demonstrating sheerness fabric: silk satin noteworthy: dry clean only alterations: replaced zipper condition: very good with light, age-appropriate surface bruising measurements: shoulders: approx 14” sleeve: approx 24” from shoulder, 17” from underarm arm circumference: 14” at underarm, 6” at wrist bust: 35” underbust/rib cage: 30” waist: 24” hips: 44” length: 52 ½” from shoulder to shortest point (front) of skirt, 45” from underarm to shortest point (front) of skirt sweep: 230” train: 60” hem: none label: no label present size: no size tag present; comparable to modern size extra small

  • Ivory Satin Queen Anne Empire Wedding Gown w Adjustable Train/Bustle – XS, 1950s
    Located in Tucson, AZ
A highly traditional gown with positively regal bearing, this full-skirted wedding dress covers all bases. Though it conceals and arms and neck for propriety, its Queen Anne neckline provides allure through its center plunge; it has a full train for the ceremony, but can be buttoned at the rear back for the reception and dancing; lace and pearl beading provide texture and interest, but ultra-heavyweight Duchess satin lend gravitas and modesty. Truly, fit for a Queen. Ivory wedding gown...
