Un Chapeau de Paille d'Italie is a superb original pencil and ink drawing on ivory glossy paper realized by Flor David in 1951, as it is reported in black ink on lower right margin.
Representing the silhouette of an elegant greeting woman with a rapid and synthetic line and a wise touch, this original drawing seems to be the sketch for theatrical spectacle. the woman just delayed is the French actress Francoise Engel in "Un Chapeau de paille d'Italie".
Hand-signed and dated by the artist on the lower right margin.
The artwork is attached to the ivory cardboard, a little bit damaged by humidity stains on the lower and higher margins, cm 61.5 x 34. Overall in very good conditions.

Flor David (Paris 1891-1958) pseudonym of David Florence. Pastel painter. she was a pupil of Desirè Lucas. She exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais since 1923 and had honorable mention at Prix Leonie Dussueil in 1934.
