About the Item
Ballroom Dancers by Trudy Good. Original Charcoal & Pastel onto paper.
Trudy Good is a British figurative painter who has exhibited in numerous places such as London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Sydney as well as Europe. Good works instinctively, with a heavy focus on lighting and the female form which has led her to collaborate with many top couture designers and work on specific projects for London fashion week.
With a delicate hand, Trudy Good has captured the graceful movement of dancers. The inspiration of which came from viewing Ballroom dancing on the television. Good became mesmerised by the way that they seemed to move so completely together, communicating only through body language and such grace.
"My works are never narratives; merely moments....
I love the immediacy of working with charcoal and pastel and being able to move the image around with your hands, nothing coming between the paper and you creating. I try not to consolidate the image too early, rather just let it emerge slowly onto the paper"

Trudy Good
Trudy Good is an artist based in the United Kingdom whose paintings have been exhibited in Scotland, England, Ireland, France, and Belgium. Her realistic figurative works portray the female form and are marked by restricted use of colour. Good especially enjoys the juxtaposition of "ghostly" charcoal renderings of the figure set against a bold backdrop. In addition, she creates using pastels and oils on paper or canvas.
