"Sembrava come per miracolo che fosse risorto il tempo dell'antica maniera e noi siamo stati i fortunati e i privilegiati a goderlo, gloria a te e Cecil! (...) Questo non potrà giammai venire cancellato dalla storia del costume e del teatro in Italia". ("It seemed as if by a miracle that the time of the ancient way had risen and we were the lucky ones and the privileged to enjoy it, glory to you and Cecil! (...) This can never be erased from the history of costume and theater in Italy"). Dino Grandi (Mordano, 1895 - Bologna, 1988) Dino Grandi was an Italian politician and diplomat, who went down in history for the presentation of the homonymous agenda to the Grand Council of Fascism on 25 July 1943 which led to the dismissal of Benito Mussolini. He was foreign minister, minister of Grace and Justice and ambassador to London of the Kingdom of Italy.During the second post war, he was a regular consultant to the US authorities, in particular to the ambassador in Rome, Clare Boothe Luce. Grandi often served as an intermediary in political and industrial operations between Italy and the United States. He then moved to Latin America, where he lived mainly in Brazil, owner of an agricultural estate. The definitive return to Italy took place in the sixties. Arriving in his homeland, Grandi opened a model farm in the countryside of Modena, in Albareto. Finally he took up a house in Bologna in the historic center, where he died in 1988 at the age of 93. Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971) Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters.
