Regina Murphy'Cat #2', by Regina Murphy, Drypoint Etching
About the Item
This 12" x 10" drypoint etching by Regina Murphy depicts the side profile of a beloved domestic cat's head. The head is facing to the left and the facial expression is stoic. Each hair of the cat's head is defined, adding to the detailed effect the artist employs with the drypoint. The background behind the cat's head is blurred with cross-hatching that is more concentrated in the upper-left hand corner of the composition while the smudged shading fills the rest of the background.
The etching is titled "Cat" and is signed by the artist in pencil. The etching is framed and matted.
The artist, Regina Murphy, is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Murphy attended both Oklahoma City University and Louisiana Tech University and was a member of the Oklahoma Art Guild, Individual Artists of Oklahoma, Paseo Arts Association and the Oklahoma Visual Artists Coalition. Murphy was also a founding partner of Studio Six, an art studio and gallery in Oklahoma City’s Paseo Arts District. Murphy’s art is featured in many collections throughout the United States.

- 'Conquest, ' by Vojna Bastovanovic Casteel, Oil on Canvas, 2021Located in Oklahoma City, OK"Conquest," by Vojna Bastovanovic Casteel, is a framed oil on canvas painting from 2021 that features an image of a running horse. Rendered in cool values of blue, purple, white, gray, the painting also features accents of warmer colors like pinks, tan and cream. The cropped view of the running horse accentuates its impression speed, while the emphasis on the rendering of its muscles heightens the physicality of the animal. The urgency of the scene is accentuated by what appears to be an approaching storm. Award winning Serbian artist Vojna Bastovanovic Casteel is known for artworks with natural elements, like people and animals (usually wild tigers and lions), that show selective flashes of realism often distorted by an abstract background. In her professional career, she has created hundreds of square meters of portrait mosaics for public spaces and large churches...Category

- 'Red, ' by XVALA, Acrylic, Oil Stick and Spray Paint on Canvas PaintingBy XVALALocated in Oklahoma City, OKThis large scale 76" x 90" mixed media canvas painting by XVALA features a Basquiat-style large red creature predominantly placed on the canvas against a light blue background. Other colors include varying blues, golds and black. Acrylic paint, spray paint and oil stick were used on a linen canvas. XVALA's art illuminates the hidden fallout spawned from our high tech Internet age. His 'Fear Google' campaign exposed the decay of privacy and 'No Delete' used hacked nude celebrity photos to highlight loss of control over personal information. The artist has worked with trash from the homes of Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and others, as well as dirt from the graves of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. The dirt appears in the New World Order collection as part of a pyramidal, 3D printed, living ant farm...Category
