About the Item

Acrylic on canvas Maya Abashidze is Georgian artist born in 1984 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. She was graduated from the Tbilisi State Art Academy in 2010. From May-June 2011, she participated in art residency in Leipzig, Germany within the framework of the festival Transcausia. She exhibited at Kub Gallery in 2011 in Leipzig, Germany and at Blaue Fabrik in Dresden, Germany. In 2021, she exhibited at Artarea Gallery in group show Illustration Festival World Book Capital. In 2022, she participated to a group show at Contemporary Art Center in Tbilisi in the support of Ukraine. Her works include several series, sometimes they don't even tell anything, they just express the situation. In this series, we find women, children, lovers, animals, who are resting, thinking, sleeping or just being calm and having found a balance.
