About the Item

"Escapar" (or To Escape) is a highly detailed architectural painting by artist Carol Pylant. The various points of entry, or non-entry, give the piece a surreal quality. The open archway leads to a lush, dense forest while the closed blue door has something that mimics prison bars above. The shop next door is unclear if it is open or not. Dappled light covers the sidewalk, bringing a luminosity to the entire composition. This piece is floated in a simple wooden frame measuring 33.25 x 27.25 x 2.5 inches. Carol S.     Early springtime is the subject of Jeff Aeling's photo-realistic painting entitled "Dogwoods". The tiny white flowers are just appearing on the dogwood trees as it emerges from winter's grip.     Light pillars, a captivating atmospheric optical phenomenon, have been observed during extremely cold weather conditions. These mesmerizing columns of light appear to beam directly upwards from unshielded lights, creating a spectacle that captures the imagination. While they may seem otherworldly, light pillars are actually a result of plate-shaped ice crystals suspended in the air close to the ground. Here, artist Jeff Aeling uses loose brush strokes and gentle dabs of paint evoke impressionist painting while the palette sets a tranquil scene for this singular light pillar.
