Emile GodchauxSpring Thaw Barbizon Landscape 19th century Oil painting by French Impressionist
About the Item
One of early of the French artist’s works by Emile Godchaux (fra.: Émile Godchaux, 1860 - 1938), late 19th century. This amazing landscape takes us to a cloudy spring day, making us feel the breath of a fresh breeze and the smell of melted snow. The lonely building and figure only emphasizes the emotional perception of the scene. At first glance, the color range of the painting seems somewhat limited, but the artist skillfully uses many shades and halftones to realistically depict melting snow, the sun breaking through the clouds and the forest reflected in the water. It is the magnificent sense of color and light that allows the artist to transform image of a cloudy spring day into a lyrical landscape full of mysterious narration. Discover the magic of a French Impressionist winter forest through this incredible oil painting by Emile Godchaux.
