In his Human Figures series, Christophe Dupety shows us some bodies which aspect reminds more of shadows. If the silhouettes are clearly and precisely drawn, their outline are full of superimposed colors – mostly blue – keeping a brushstroke shape.
This technique, assimilating these works to the expressionist movement confers a peculiar dynamic impression to the paintings.

Christophe Dupety
Christophe Dupety’s paintings express the vitality and spontaneity of gesture, free of all interference. They also reflect a taste for taking risks: refusing to control everything but, on the contrary, wanting to confront the chaos of life by involving phenomena linked to weightlessness, flow and accidents. For the artist, these can be used in a way that contributes to what he wants us to see: the joy of painting. An artist who favours a form of painting that can be read immediately, Christophe Dupety seeks to encourage a spontaneous emotional response in the viewer. “I always try to emphasise the joy of painting in my work: colour, shape and fluidity, and above all a sort of graphic challenge in which things always seem spontaneous and graphic in any case, because drawing has always been very important for me.’’
