About the Item
The painting "Não Me Esqueça" by Ritchelly Oliveira is a compelling blend of charcoal and acrylic on canvas. It portrays a black woman seated with her face resting thoughtfully on her hand, her gaze introspective and poignant. The artist uses dramatic contrasts in lighting to emphasize the contours and expression of the woman. A white bird, seamlessly integrated into the composition and partially overlapping the woman's shoulder, symbolizes fragility. The meticulous detail in the bird’s feathers against the darker tones of the woman's skin and attire adds a profound layer of meaning, suggesting themes of vulnerability and resilience.

Ritchelly Oliveira, visual artist, began his work in 2012, shortly after enter visual arts at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), he found
human figure a margin to present his speech about what he
understands the deeper aspects of emotional relationships. He works about what he suspects to be love and, believing that this is a universal feeling. Believing that affective relationships are built from the individual and
as their surroundings interfere with them, he tries to rescue the possibility
to construct discourses about love, especially black love. The importance
to reflect together on issues such as sexuality, responsibility
affective and colorism are necessary canons in this invitation to fulfill the ideals
dangerous and exclusionary forms of romantic love that circulate in our environments.

- Last ShotLocated in Ibadan, OyoAt the heart of "Last Shot" is a young woman, the central character of this evocative piece. She is fully absorbed in the game of snooker, her posture and facial expression revealing intense concentration and determination. The artist has deliberately obscured all the colored snooker balls, leaving only the white ball visible. This compositional choice draws the viewer's attention to the player's anticipation of her "last shot." The backdrop of "Last Shot" is a dimly lit snooker hall, creating an atmosphere of suspense and intrigue. The faint glow of overhead lights accentuates the drama of the moment, casting shadows that add depth and complexity to the scene. The absence of details surrounding the white ball and the player's narrowed focus on it contributes to the overall feeling of precision and concentration. "Last Shot" is a visual metaphor for life's critical moments—those decisive occasions when everything hinges on a single move. By obscuring the colored balls and leaving only the white ball visible, the artwork symbolizes the importance of making the right choices, even when faced with uncertainty and obscurity. The young woman's unwavering focus on her last shot encourages viewers to consider their own pivotal moments in life. It prompts reflection on the significance of each action and the consequences that follow, reminding us that sometimes, a single move can determine the course of our journey.
