About the Item
A boldly composed Las Vegas casino sign consisting of a three-dimensional red die rests on a King of Clubs. The very graphic sign is captured in an equally bold way by street photographer Mitchell Funk. The image's simplicity is carried over to its color profile as well. The deep blue sky serves as a background to the other two primary colors making the image flat and punchy.
Signed, dated and numbered 2/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
