Meghan Mirasolo’s “Seville” is a photograph that looks out over the city in Spain from the Giralda bell tower. The 16 x 20 archival digital print combines multiple photographs into one, creating a dreamy atmosphere that accentuates the hazy reds, whites, and oranges of the urban landscape. The viewer is transported while glimpsing a maze of narrow streets, rooftops, and swimming pools. This original print is matted in white and has a wood frame with a silver front and white sides. The framed size of the work is 22.5 x 26.5 x 1.25 and is wired for ease of hanging. The artist’s signature is on the back.
Meghan Mirasolo creates digital photographs by repeating and layering multiple shots. “It’s always interesting to see how different photos interact with each other once the opacity is lowered,” she says. There are subtle skews in perspective as well as shifts of color and light. Her work can take on an ethereal, atmospheric feel. Recent pieces combine photographs from her travels, using both urban and natural landscapes as an inspiration. The photos capture the feel of exploring new and unfamiliar settings, if only for a moment. Mirasolo is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
