Original antique cruise travel poster for the Orient Line to Australia featuring stunning artwork by the British painter Elijah Albert Cox (1876-1955) depicting three people in colourful clothing and headscarves sitting around the fire at night and resting against the tall trees with a dark silhouette of a cruise ship / ocean liner sailing on the sea below stars in the sky above, the lights on the liner reflected on the calm water and the steam from the ship rising with the smoke from the fire to the title in bold yellow lettering above, the information text below - Managers F Green & Co Anderson, Anderson & Co Fenchurch Avenue and 28 Cockspur Street London. Founded in 1797 and serving routes around the world the Orient Steam Navigation Company (known as Orient Line) was a British shipping company that merged to form P&O-Orient Lines in 1960 and was fully absorbed by P&O (Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company) in 1966. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, backed on linen.
