About the Item
Unity V is a unique terracotta sculpture by contemporary artist Delphine Brabant, dimensions are 28 × 18 × 8 cm (11 × 7.1 × 3.1 in).
The sculpture is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
As she alternates between vertical and horizontal shapes, fullness and emptiness, the artist creates geometric shapes in this series that combine various volumes and right angles. These components are put together to form new volumes, which occasionally remind me of modern architecture projects.
In her abstract sculptures, Delphine Brabant, who is fascinated by the idea of construction, assembles and fits together a variety of straightforward forms like an architect. The artist finds inspiration in the verticality, horizontality, and interaction between solid and space. She favours simple geometric shapes and bases her art on the idea of balance.

Delphine Brabant
Deeply fascinated with the concept of construction, Delphine Brabant composes her abstract sculptures like an architect, assembling and fitting together a multitude of simple forms. Inspired by nature as much as by cityscapes and buildings, the contemporary artist develops her artistic research around the concepts of verticality and horizontality, the balance between fullness and emptiness, and the notions of group and harmony. Delphine Brabant works with bronze, steel, concrete, plaster and clay but also stone and wood. “In my work, there are always two opposing ideas. Strength and fragility. The full and the void. Light and darkness. Balance and imbalance.’’

- Monumental Covered Jar #1By Mariko Brown HarkinLocated in Kansas City, MOMaterials : Terracotta, white gold luster Date : 2016 Dimensions : 16 x 8.5 x 8.5 inches Description : wheel thrown and altered terracotta, cone 04 oxidation, glazes and luster COA provided Mariko Brown Harkin about her work: "My fascination with pottery comes from my desire to make art and to produce something that is not only functional but visually appealing. Porcelain allows me stretch and shape the clay in any way I choose and offers a blank canvas for my floral imagery and luscious, rich glazes to blend. The forms I create are tight and precise with a sense of restricted volume. I use bands around the form to constrict specific areas of each piece, while at the same time creating space for the volume and fullness to escape. The bands create registers to frame my drawings and paintings of floral imagery. The way I combine surface and form is inspired by Ming Dynasty porcelain...Category

- Homage à KahnweilerLocated in Berlin, DEIrmgard Biernath (1905 Waldheim in Saxony - 1998 Mainz), Hommage à Kahnweiler, 1984. Terracotta relief, burnished red body, 43.5 x 38 cm, mounted on support plate, in wooden frame 57 x 49.5 cm, monogrammed "IB" at lower right. - Isolated patina losses, but overall good condition, frame slightly bumped. - The Appearance of Genius- This homage to Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler shows the gallerist and art theorist as Pablo Picasso portrayed him in his lithographic portrait of 1957. As an innovative Parisian gallery owner, Kahnweiler had exclusively represented Picasso since 1911, while Picasso had painted his famous portrait of Kahnweiler the previous year as a major work of Cubism. And it is Picasso who appears at the centre of Irmgard Biernath's image. Here, his face echoes the features of the self-portrait he painted in 1907 in the Prague National Gallery. His eyes are wide open as he gazes into the distance, surrounded by the works of his artistic vision that have already taken shape. On the right is the bronze "Man with Sheep...Category
