Provenance : Estate of the artist Collection of Marina Picasso (by descent from above) From the first visit to Vallauris, also knows as "the city of hundred potters", Pablo Picasso remained fascinated with the freedom and expressive nature of the ceramic medium. To satisfy his vigorous creativity, he begun to collaboratre with Ramié couple, founder of the Madoura Atelier, in 1947 and it lasted for more than 20 years. Through the exploration of the new medium, the painter transcribes his most iconic subjects by manufacturins a wonderful univers of forms and textures. "Tête de faune avec tests de lustre rose" expresses a fundamental living testimony, a constant reflection on the creative and the elaboration of the forms.
