Vintage 1990s Nolan Miller Couture Ivory Embroidered Silk Strapless Mermaid Gown
By Nolan Miller
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A breathtaking Nolan Miller Couture unworn with tags embroidered silk organza sculpted bridal gown dating back to the early 1990's. Nolan Miller was an acclaimed costume designer best known for his work on the long-running series Dynasty. Miller was nominated six times for an Emmy Award, winning 'Outstanding Costumes' in 1984 for the Dynasty series, which also set a fashion trend for glamorous high society gowns. This stunning Nolan Miller creation from his exclusive couture line is the perfect solo in the spotlight 'Barbie Doll' bridal look. This showstopper has serious allure with that hourglass mermaid silhouette. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; the highest quality large-scale ivory floral cutwork embroidered silk organza with a matching ivory silk underlay. I adore the fully corset boned satin trimmed sweetheart plunge strapless with adorable back-bow. A curved nipped waist with fitted mermaid slightly trained skirting creates the perfect amount of drama to this timeless garment. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day haute couture. This would make an epic red carpet or wedding moment. Measurements Bust: 32-33 inches Waist: 25-26 inches Hips: 35 inches Length top to waist: 11 inches Length waist to hem: 41 inches This 1990's Nolan Miller Couture designer gown...

Charles James Spiral Dress
By Charles James
Located in New York, NY
Charles James, ca. 1950 Dinner Dress, often referred to as the Spiral Dress Red silk faille Extremely rare example Like a red-hot cyclone, a spiral emanates from a central point on the hip. The fabric then angles off the straight grain as the skirt revolves around the body, introducing the bias.  The swirl terminates in a flared, curved-hemmed back, fastened by 3 fabric - covered buttons of graduated size. The asymmetric draping forms a pronounced diagonal neckline which seems to wrap the wearer of its own volition, suddenly creating the effect of a stole at the back, before continuing on its tornado-like path. A tour de force in draping, the dress, in constant motion, is 'engineered' more than 'designed', using the wearer's body as an axis. Long considered a masterpiece of the James oeuvre, the Spiral Dress is indeed a sculpture in its own right. In the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Spiral Dress is currently on view in the Museum's seminal, historic exhibition, "Charles James: Beyond Fashion".  Provenance: This dress was acquired directly from the collection of Design entrepreneur Murray Moss...
