Set of Six Edna Arnow Studio Pottery Canisters
By Edna Arnow
Located in Chicago, IL
The handmade earthenware canisters are glazed in earthtones of brown, tan, orange and yellow. A unique thick porous lava glaze is incorporated on the canister body and completely covers each lid. The interiors of the canisters are also glazed. Each canister is incised with the artist signature "ARNOW". There has been a repair on one of the lids and was well done so that the break is not very noticeable at all. A smaller lid has a chip on the inside rim. This chip was also repaired and cannot be easily seen from the outside. Please see photos and details below.
Large to small:
7.5" H x 8.5" DIA - excellent condition
6.5" H x 7.5" DIA - small chip on rim of lid 1/4" x 1/8"
6" H x 7.5" DIA - repair to cracked lid
6" H x 7" DIA - excellent condition
5.25" H x 7" DIA - repair to chip on rim of lid
4.5" H x 6" DIA - small chip on rim of lid 1/4" x 1/8"
Overall the repairs and very minor chips do not detract from the rarity and aesthetic of the set. Please contact us for additional photographs or questions.
