About the Item
An incredible antique silver plated chatelaine.
A truly beautiful piece, designed to be worn clipped to a belt or sash, the chatelaine has a wonderful design featuring Buddhist Deities and the links are made up of individual mask design lozenges interconnected with silver plated O Rings.
The chatelaine has three separate chains suspended each with a dog clip fastener and of slightly varying lengths for securing your favourite accompaniments.
Traditionally used to hold useful tools, usually for sewing, these can be adorned with any number of antique pieces such as stamp cases, vestas or vinaigrettes, scissors to fob watches the possibilities are endless!
This is a fine and unusual piece marked on the reverse for EPNS (silver plate).
Condition:
Good used condition overall with some signs of use and wear commensurate with age, overall dark patina, slight bend / dent to the clip.
