Jean Patou French Turban Style Fur Felt Hat, 1960's
About the Item
Faboo! 1960's Jean Patou fur felt hat with a turban silhouette in a yummy caramel brown color. The hat appears to be an effortless twist of fabric with a ruched design at the front finishing to two tails at the back. The felt appears to be constructed with beaver fur which provides the hat with not only a durable body but also a waterproof finish. Truly a sophisticated look that would pair well with everything from a 1960's suit to a contemporary teddy coat.
CONDITION
Excellent condition. Previously owned though never worn with paper contents tag still attached.
MEASUREMENTS
The interior grosgrain rim measures 22.5" circumference. The crown has a 4" rise with 8" to the center crown.

Jean Patou was a French fashion designer and founder of the Patou brand. His family's business was tanning and furs. He worked with his uncle in Normandy, then moved to Paris in 1910, intent on becoming a couturier.
