1960S Blue & White Haute Couture Silk Duchess Satin Cut Velvet Gown With Bows
About the Item
This gown is made from some of the most expensive fabric one could ever buy. The rich silk has been woven into a luscious duchess satin. Then the silk is delicately cut on the surface with razors to turn the satin in areas into velvet! Then after this the fabric was hand printed with a water color brushstroke print, aligned right on top of the velvet brushstrokes. The designer who made this gown understood the cost of this fabric and in the most genius of ways they made this dress with only one seam! The fit comes from the shaping of the fabric with diagonal darts which control the fabric as it wraps around the body to the center seam in the back.
