About the Item
This 1970's sensational vintage 2 piece dress from Jean Patou is in a luxurious fine black silk and is covered with paisleys and dots in gold and green metallic thread. The dress has a sheer blouse with front covered buttons, and a tie and snaps at the collar. The blouse is meant to be loose fitting and can be worn with the skirt or with a pair of black pants or a skirt you already own. You could even wear it with jeans! The long skirt is lined and pleated, closing with a zipper and snap. We estimate this ensemble to fit a modern day size 6/8 but please use the measurements as a guide for the best fit. Though the pieces are labeled a 12, it is a vintage size 12 and it fits our mannequin like a 6/8.

Jean Patou was a French fashion designer and founder of the Patou brand. His family's business was tanning and furs. He worked with his uncle in Normandy, then moved to Paris in 1910, intent on becoming a couturier.
