Origin Made The Weaver's Stool in Walnut
About the Item
The Weaver’s Stool came about when Gabriel Tan met Maria Adelina, a weaver in her sixties and the last known one in Paços Ferreira, a furniture-producing town in Portugal. Gabriel’s design fully showcases her craft – this stretcher-less stool construction highlights the woven paper cord surface and gives it paramount attention.
This special edition stool combines a walnut frame with bespoke black paper cord weaving. In the final product conceived by the designer, smoked ash wood was the only chosen wood material to pair with the black paper cord (the other wood options pair with natural paper cord), hence this walnut wood version exists as a one-off piece.
Experimental Editions are one-off pieces and are not exchangeable/refundable.

Origin Made
Origin Made was born as a desire to create objects with a soul. We work with family run workshops or solo artisans, pairing them with internationally recognized or up-and-coming designers to develop collectible products. We view our craftsmen as partners rather than suppliers, and we give a face to the hands that shape our products, promoting them alongside our designers. It is a brand that puts the heart in front of everything else, with a passion for the craft process that represent our intangible cultural value and heritage. We believe that the story of each object should be told from where it is born - the workshop of the craftsman - how it is made and the environment in which it is conceived. The recipient of our products deserves to know, in order to truly understand the piece they have received.
