Art Deco Design & Period Sterling Silver Suite of Dishes - by R. E. Stone 1937
About the Item
Hallmarked in London in 1937 by R. E. Stone (1907 - 1990), this very stylish suite of 3 Sterling Silver Dishes or Baskets, are in the high Art Deco taste, with shaped sides, and standing on four semi circular feet.
These stunningly art deco dishes would make a wonderful way of serving at the table, and could also be used for impressive floral displays.
The larger dish measures 3.5"(9cm) tall, by 12.25"(31cm) wide, by 7"(18cm) deep. The two smaller dishes measure 1.5"(4cm) tall, by 5.5"(14.5cm) wide, by 3"(8cm) deep and the set together weighs 35 troy ounces.
This suite is a great example of Art Deco style and elegance from one of the most important and sought after English silversmiths working during the 20th Century.
