Spaniard Fajalauza Style Ceramic Bowl
About the Item
This is a Fajalauza style ceramic bowl from Spain. It depicts a round bowl hand painted cobalt blue and white with a bird and some branches of flowers in the center. Above this center, there is a pattern of cobalt blue splashes of painting. The border is decorated with some loops of the the same color. Fajalauza ceramics were originated in the 16th century in Granada, Spain from the mix of Arabics and Christians Art influences. Their hand painted designs are usually flowers, birds and plants, mainly the pomegranate that is the symbol of the city of Granada.
