About the Item
Zsolnay vintage quite large Art Nouveau nicest Eosin Bowl with a Sculptured Female Figurine.
Stunning ceramics bowl with gorgeous eosin glaze shining purple, red, black. The oblong or egg-shaped bowl has scalloped area, it is edge of a woman's gown train blown by the wind. The sculptured female figurine wearing long dress with spaghetti straps holds the bowl (gown train) with right hand.

The Zsolnay factory was a leader in ceramics production throughout the Austro-Hungarian Empire about Turn of Century:
By 1898, a large part of ceramics production within the Monarchy was produced at the Zsolnay Factory in Pecs and within a short period, Zsolnay became the largest producer of ceramics within Austrian Empire. Especially the invention of the Eosin glazes by Zsolnay opened yet another door to extraordinary glaze decorations. Caused by these successes Hungarian well-known architects (for example Odon Lechner and Imre Steindl) preferred collaboration with Zsolnay factory.
Branded by Zsolnay official stamp:
the so-said "five -churches" mark attached like a coin to bowl's reverse side. Form number 6545 which means that this bowl was made in period 1900-1902.
