19th Century burr birch sugar box
About the Item
19th century burr birch sugar box circa 1870.
Fine piece of history showing how sugar used to be processed. Birch root box with a fitted interior of a hinged knife on block for cutting sugar. Sitting on board with holes to allow the sugar to fall through. Interior is removable if desired.
1 age split to lid, expected surface marks to woodwork.
