Georgian Period Apple Shaped Treen Tea Caddy
About the Item
During the Georgian period the neoclassical manner became increasingly popular in England, resulting in a style of furniture and accessories now associated with elegant restraint. What could be more refined than this simple fruitwood tea caddy in the shape of an apple? Carved from treen as a novelty, the apple shaped body has a metal stem and a pointed oval shaped cut steel escutcheon.
